Journal 9 ---Teach Your Students to Share Using iCyte NETS-T 1-3

Huston, D. (2010, November). In Teach Your Students to Share Using iCyte. Retrieved November 30, 2010

Huston, reflects one the way teachers have their students research. He states that teachers give out topics and lets them loose without telling them the main point of research. He implies that research should not just stay in paper. He believes that research found should be shared through network such as iCyte by creating a bigger social bookmarking. He explains that there are other networks such as Delicious, or Diigo, but iCyte is better because students and teachers unite in a type club for a same interest. When there is a same interest search become easier for anybody. Bookmarking research helps other students in their research.

In terms of research, what bookmarking engine is better for students?

According to Huston, iCyte is the best bookmarking engine because it is the only one that saves different categories of research for different fields. Huston says that other bookmarking engines don’t have different categories to make the search easier. I thought that Delicious was great already the way it was, but now that I know that iCyte is better, is great. I didn’t know it could get better. Teachers should begin using this search engine and teach their students to use it as well. I think that in order to expect good research h from students, tools have to be delivered to them in order to make it easier for them. This way they can actually enjoy the assignment.

What is the best way to make research easier for our students?

The best way to give an assignment is to teach students the best way to teach them the best way to search for the information that we as teachers are looking for. If we have big expectations we should supply them with search engines such as iCyte. Currently iCyte is not very commonly used, but with in time it will be used because it is a great search engine, great for social networking with same interest students, and a great way for students to collaborate with other students and even teachers. iCyte is a great way to teach students how to collaborate and even to save their research so that other students see the research.
